Welcome to San Diego Flight Training International
For anyone just starting a "learn to fly" program, to aviators working towards advanced pilot and instructor ratings and certificates, San Diego Flight Training International (SDFTI) has delivered safe quality instruction since opening in 1989. You may fly factor new "glass" Cessna aircraft and the latest in Advanced Ground Training Devices in the richest airspace and terrain available anywhere.
SDFTI has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct flight training as both a Part 61 and Part 141 professional flight school with the additional distinction of having FAA Examination Authority for your commercial pilot certificate, instrument rating, and private pilot certificate.
Examination Authority is only granted to schools that demonstrate, document, and maintain the highest quality of aviation training. The FAA continually inspects and monitors SDFTI to ensure that their high standards are maintained.
SDFTI is also affiliated with the Cessna Pilot Center program which only associates with the best schools available.
San Diego is a most outstanding place to complete your aviation training. It is recognized both for its superior living and training environments. Combined, these are known as the "Southern California Flying Experience."
San Diego boasts an ideal year-round climate, beautiful beaches, tourist attractions, award winning restaurants, grand vistas, and a safe casual style of living with an international flair.
Flying here presents you with among the richest mixes of controlled air traffic space to experience. These provide you the wide range of knowledge to handle whatever you might eventually encounter. The topography is a rich mixture of long white beaches along the Pacific Ocean, colorful deserts and rugged snow-capped area mountains. The clouds that sometimes grace and moderate our temperature provide perfect conditions to experience IFR training. Pilot Journey has proclaimed San Diego the most ideal aviation training location in the United States.
SDFTI has helped thousands of pilots meet their flight training goals and objectives seven days a week with Safe Quality Instruction since 1989.
