POSITION SUMMARY:
An A&P Mechanic is responsible for completing maintenance on aircraft in a timely manner. C-Check and Return Aircraft.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
[+] Perform all tasks as assigned in accordance to Company and FAA operating standards
[+] Effective communication skills
[+] Required to complete other duties as assigned and as necessary
[+] Responsible to operate in accordance with the provisions of this FAA approved document
[+] Ensure you do not perform any task for which you have not been properly trained and qualified.
[+] To check the MIL binders at the start of each scheduled shift and read any new published MIL(s) (refer to Chapter 1)
[+] Make sure there is a discrepancy on the aircraft before performing maintenance (refer to Chapter 4)
[+] Responsible to review the aircraft log and DML list to make sure that items previously deferred, continue to be deferrable (refer to Chapter 4)
[+] Utilize proper parts, tools and test equipment to accomplish all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance asks as required to provide safe, reliable and on-time aircraft.
[+] Makes proper log book/sheet entries iaw Great Lakes Aviation GMM.
[+] Perform the pre-dock, dock and post-dock procedures when applicable (refer to Chapter 4).
[+] Review the aircraft logbook for open discrepancy (s) (refer to Chapter 4).
[+] Perform the duties of a lead mechanic when required.
[+] Complete shift turnover information (refer to Chapter 4)
[+] Perform receiving inspection (if qualified).
[+] Properly tag components (refer to Chapter 4 and Vol. 9, Chapter 10)
[+] Ensure all tasks assigned are completed in accordance with manufacturer´s manuals or other FAA approved data.
[+] Maintain your work area in a neat, clean and safe condition at all times. Report any inoperative equipment to Lead Mechanic.
[+] High School Diploma or Equivalent
[+] A&P License
[+] Must have valid Driver´s License
[+] B1900 and EMB120 Familiarization preferred
[+] Ability to solve problems creatively
[+] Strong attention to detail
[+] Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
[+] Must speak and understand English
[+] Must be available to work flexible hours and days including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
[+] Indoors and Outdoors. May stand continuously up to four hours at a time
[+] Working outside in inclement weather
[+] Elevated noise level
[+] Various work schedules to include weekends, evenings, and holidays
[+] Operating vehicles
Some travel Physical Requirements:
[+] Requires strenuous physical work
[+] Heavy Physical Demands
[+] Exert up to 100lbs of force occasionally
[+] Exert up to 50lbs of force frequently
[+] Exert up to 20lbs of force constantly to move objects
