FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Production and the Newark Station Manager on a day to day basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures
- Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems
- Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems
- Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble
- Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies
- Maintenance of GSE
- Actively participate in Porterīs Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
- Assist on the ramp as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of secondary school is required
- A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility
- An Aircraft Maintenance Engineerīs (AME) license issued by Transport Canada, M2
- Valid Ontario full "G" drivers license
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and successfully complete the company screening process
- Dependability (must have a clear attendance record and reliable on time reporting for work
- Working hours may vary dependent on aircraft requirements. Some overtime and being on call will be required
