Description: Reports directly to the Senior CPM. Develops and coordinates all components of Project Specific Certification Plans (PSCP) utilizing input from the appropriate stakeholders to include (but not limited to): Engineering, Production, Certification, and FAA Designated Engineering (DER) and Airworthiness (DAR) representatives. The CPM ensures all aspects of the Certification Project are accurately defined and each of the appropriate regulatory requirements established, including assignment of compliance finding activities. Ensures the deliverable is capable of obtaining FAA issuance of Certification Project Notification (CPN) and subsequent PSCP approval.
Manages various aspects of Certification Projects ensuring the achievement of schedule critical milestones to include (but not limited to): DER reviews and approvals of Type Design Data (TDD), DER revisions of TDD back to Engineering, Doc Control and Production, assignment and tracking of Requests for Conformity (RFC); DAR conformity and airworthiness activity, development and maintenance of the Compliance Matrix, maintenance and accuracy of PSCP revisions throughout the project lifecycle; develop project close out documentation and coordination of EASA validations with Foreign Airworthiness Authorities and consultants.
Will also assist Director of Certification in development of ODA systems and procedures, and multiple other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of Project Certification Experience in an Aviation environment
- 2+ years of Management/Supervisory experience
- Proficient in the FAA Supplemental Type Certification (STC) process and requirements of 14 CFR Parts 21, 91, 135 and 145; FAA Orders 8110.4, 8130.2 as well as additional supporting FAA Regulations, Orders, Notices, Advisory Circulars (ACs), and industry guidance related to design, manufacturing, maintenance and certification. Previous experience within a DAS environment would be considered acceptable.
- Skilled in the ability to read, interpret and apply knowledge related to use of TDD, to include (but not limited to): dwgs, specs, schematics, wiring diagrams, instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA), airplane flight manual supplements (AFMS), etc.
- Skilled in the ability to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner while effectively motivating people of all departments and management levels.
- Fosters collaborative working relationships which benefit the project, team and overall business activity of client.
- Previous experience in planning, implementation and management of engineering and/or certification projects, and in providing direct management/leadership for aircraft modifications and associated logistics in a highly responsive environment.
- Proficient with PC and MS Office tools, i.e., Word, Excel, Project, PPoint, Access, etc. Must be proficient with FAA RGL, and the ability to identify, locate and research the necessary regulatory requirements and guidance information.
