Description:
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled set-ups and operations of various types of equipment, including CNC equipment to accomplish a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of close tolerance work, when and where required, and display a good working knowledge of CNC programming.
- Operate equipment to perform such typical operations as turning, casing, boring, grooving and chamfering.
- Turns and bores for any kind of machining fit; machine parts involving compound angle or concave or convex surfaces to exacting tolerances.
- Work on unusual and irregular shaped castings and forgings.
- Check parts for conformity to specifications.
- May operate other standard machine shop machines of the operator´s level of difficulty, such as milling or drilling when so assigned.
- Perform bench operations when necessary.
- Independently perform any operation within the machine´s capacity with minimum amount of assistance.
- Efficiently set feeds and speeds and make machine adjustments.
- Checks own machine set-up.
- Uses a wide variety of precision´s measuring instruments.
- Perform production machining with good quality and efficiency.
- Works from oral and written instructions, blueprints, shop orders or sketches to determine operations to be performed, dimension and tolerances.
- Set-up and operate equipment, when and where required. Maintain equipment and work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Perform above requirements in a safe, productive and quality conscious manner.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHS act and Regulations; use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the employer required be worn; report to his supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself or another worker; and report to his supervisor any contravention of the act or Regs or the existence of any hazard of which he knows.

Qualifications

- Able to work on 5 Axis DMG
- Experience on Heidenheim and Fanuc
- Minimum three (3) year CNC Mills experience or equivalent
- College diploma in Precision Machining or similar discipline.
