Summary:
Provide direct supervision, leadership and management of the day-to-day operations within the Maintenance Control department.

People Excellence
- Manage the daily activities of Maintenance Controllers, including evaluation of daily reports completed by Maintenance Controllers for completeness, accuracy and proper distribution and identify and implement necessary changes for workgroup efficiency.
- Develop and maintain work schedules for the Maintenance Controllers ensuring adequate shift coverage.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, within multiple functions and occasionally across the department. Some external customer, vendor, manager and/or regulatory official communication may be required.
- Listen, understand and negotiate within the department and occasionally across the division.
- Provide effective direct team leadership across the function to attain goals and deliver results.
- Build and maintain a collaborative and engaged environment within multiple functions by providing positive, encouraging and informative input/feedback.
- Recruit, hire, train and/or develop staff within the work group to ensure all direct reports are adequately and properly trained for their duties and responsibilities. Establish career paths for staff development, set skill depth and provide on-the-job training as needed.
- Prepare measurable work group goals and objectives to meet all position objectives, as well as function and department goals. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
- Establish and maintain internal and external relationships and networks within the function that promote effective achievement of primarily operational and some strategic objectives.
Business Excellence
- Assure budget guidelines are maintained.
- Monitor operational irregularities and determine immediate needs necessary to maintain highest levels of safety and operational performance.
- Monitor aircraft status and communicate operational aircraft availability to the SOC Duty Manager as necessary.
- Monitor and assure daily scheduled and non-routine aircraft maintenance requirements are accomplished within established guidelines.
- Evaluate the daily shift reports for completeness, accuracy and proper distribution.
- Perform the duties of the Maintenance Controller as required.
- Assess situations using advanced skills or integrate multiple alternatives to reach timely and appropriate solutions.
- Manage multiple function´s problems and projects to resolve issues, aggressively pursuing the multiple function´s business objectives.
- Manage multiple function activities to ensure business objectives are met on time, within budget and with maximum accuracy and quality.

- Effectively translate ideas into actions within multiple functions and advance them within the department.

- Current FAA approved airframe and powerplant license. (Required)

Additional Qualifications
- Basic computer skills required, to include familiarity with MS Word and Excel. (Required)
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a continually changing, fast-paced environment. (Required)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong time management and prioritization skills. (Required)
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance. (Required)
- Broad and in-depth aircraft maintenance and maintenance control knowledge required (Required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (Required)
- Previous experience managing people. (Preferred)
