VSC is looking for a local qualified candidate to perform production control and expediting. This project has an estimated workload of 3-5 days per week on an estimated duration between 6-12 months in San Diego, California. The candidate should have a strong background in Aerospace.
Duties:
- Monitor, evaluate, expedite, and improve manufacturing processes by checking adherence to schedule, auditing production processes, and identifying improvement to enhance schedule performance.
- Act as the liaison between various departments within the company to ensure production deadlines and schedules are met.
- Provide detailed records and reports including shipping schedules, order status to customer managers.
- Develop and communicate weekly and daily manufacturing schedules with supplier and customer to ensure 100% on time delivery.
- Ability to manage order backlog and develop / maintain capacity-planning process to ensure appropriate resource and materials are available to meet customers´ requirements and minimize manufacturing costs.
- Manage details of production schedule to maximize productivity of manufacturing and shipping departments.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and prioritize customer requirements.
- Identify and implement appropriate planning, management and control strategies for production, material requirements, inventory levels and shop floor.
- Minimum of 5 recent years of Production Control/Expediting experience
- Strong Aerospace industry experience
- In-depth understand of MRP/ERP systems
- Comfortable working as Independent Contactor (1099 Tax Form)
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Internet and Email
