Project Manager
Company Information:
Commercial Jet is an FAA/EASA 145 Repair Station. Located at the Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida with 200+ employees. We specialize in complete airframe inspections, passenger to freighter conversions, heavy maintenance repair and modifications, executive interior modifications and avionics upgrade programs for a wide variety of aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
The Project Manager shall be directly responsible to the Director Maintenance for the overall operation of the individual aircraft projects. He/She shall plan, direct, layout and coordinate the activities of project to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:
1. Direct activities required to properly manage the assigned program.
2. Ensure supporting departments are informed of project schedules, priorities and needs.
3. Direct work from all departments ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
4. Ensure resources (i.e., tooling and materials) are available, as well as any other resources required for the project.
5. Monitor tasks ensuring proper man-hour accounting is taking place and that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
6. Conduct and direct project status meetings with customer representatives and acquire all pertinent information for these meetings.
7. Interface with customer representatives.
8. Promote teamwork and the company philosophy at all times.
9. Promote proper communication between departments and shifts (i.e., proper verbal and written pass down).
10. Monitor total control over aspects of project management.
11. Coordinate with Lead personnel ensuring that all documentation is properly prepared.
12. Coordinate with Lead personnel ensuring that all performance evaluations are completed on time and fairly.
13. Manage all work hours, including overtime hours, ensuring proper distribution and reducing overtime hours except when project schedules are jeopardized.
14. Assist in training and nurturing employees.
15. Manage employees indirect hours (i.e., sick time, vacation time, etc.) to avoid abuse.
16. Issue disciplinary action when necessary within guidelines of the Commercial Jet Inc Employee policy manual.
17. Ensure operations are performed within the guidelines set forth by government agencies (i.e., FAA, EPA, OSHA, etc.) as well as Commercial Jet Inc. policies and procedures, customer procedures and applicable aircraft manuals.
18. Provide technical assistance as required.
19. Ensure entire work area is clean and in an orderly fashion.
20. Coordinate with other management ensuring proper utilization of manpower, hangar space and any other resources.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Current FAA A&P license . 5 years commercial maintenance, 2 years lead or supervisory experience required. Boeing 737,757, 767, MD80, DC10 experience preferred
