Requested Tasking:
Seeking a temporary senior quality engineer for a supplier in Philadelphia, PA.
The primary job responsibilities include developing test plans and reports, conducting regular Technical Data Package (TDP) compliance and process audits, product source inspection, ensuring that all contractual and quality system requirements are understood and flowed to the suppliers, reviewing and maintaining procedures, developing variation reduction plans, supporting technical/engineering projects, and the resolution of internal and external quality issues. The position is also responsible for monitoring and reporting supplier quality performance and initiating preventive and corrective action, as required. The role requires frequent interface with suppliers, manufacturing operations, customers and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
Duration Details: up to a year
Frequency Details: 4-5 days/week
Work Site: Philadelphia, PA
Regional Travel Required: frequent travel will be required to support local and remote suppliers.
Shift Hours: 1st Shift
Must Have Skills:
- 5 years of recent work experience in quality and manufacturing engineering
- Quality System knowledge (ISO9000, AS9100)
- Experience in DoD
- Experience in internal/supplier auditing and material review board activities
- Experience working in machining and/or assembly operations
- Bachelorīs Degree in a technical discipline
- Ability to interpret complex TDP (technical data package) requirements.
- Ability to audit processes against TDP requirements and identify deficiencies, weaknesses and recommend improvements
- Good project management skills
- Detailed, working knowledge of SPC (statistical process control)
- Strong root cause/corrective action /failure analysis skills
- Strength in PFMEA (process failure mode and effects analysis) and process control plans
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lead without direct authority
Nice to Have Skills:
- ASQ, CQE, and CQA are preferred
- Current or past auditing certification
