Dubai Airports is creating a range of aviation jobs for young Emiratis through a new graduate development programme.
The scheme will offer eight placements for young graduates every year, allowing them to train and gain hands-on experience in specific aviation disciplines, including airside operations, engineering services, terminal operations, group strategy, human resources and finance. Once the training is completed, it is expected that the young recruits will move into specialised ground crew jobs at Dubai Airports.
The chairman of Dubai Airports, HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said that is was important to foster the development of young emirates, particularly in the key industry of aviation.
“I endorse the approach we are taking by focusing on the development of UAE nationals at the management level to ensure a strong pipeline of talent is available to become our leaders of the future,” he said. “I am equally pleased with the progress to date.”
The graduates will be carefully selected through a stringent merit-based process, and the successful applicants will be monitored and assessed closely throughout the year to ensure they are gaining the maximum benefit from the programme.
The company will initially be targeting graduate from the Higher Colleges of Technology, Emirates Aviation College, American University of Dubai, The British University in Dubai and Dubai University, although Emiratis from other universities are also eligible to apply.
