Magic Flight Training at Dream Catcher Aviation is committed to making flight training fun, exciting, and most of all fulfilling. I would like to invite you to come out and take one of our Discovery Flights. Just bring your $49 certificate from the be-a-pilot website, and we will take you flying. Like I said on the phone, Andrea, our chief pilot, will let you do almost everything including the taxi, runup, and takeoff.

Magic Flight Training takes pride in having the newest, cleanest, and best maintained aircraft in Jacksonville. All of them are equipped with modern avionics and very low time engines. In fact, most of them are either brand new or less than two years old. Attached are some pictures of the types of aircraft in our fleet.

We are the only certified Cessna Pilot Center at Herlong Airport so we offer the Cessna Pilot Kit which is a CD-ROM based training program. The instruction, visuals, demonstrations, and interactive quizzes are so comprehensive, that they have eliminated the need to attend a formalized ground school. Unfortunately, some schools still try to push students into a formal ground school as a way to increase revenue. Magic Flight Training promises never to do this. Any formal ground school offered by us will be focused on a particular area such as the written exam, not on general information.

Included in the pilot kit is almost all of the things that you will need to start your training, including your logbook, E6B flight computer, aircraft manual, textbook, and syllabus. Total cost for the kit is $299.

Magic Flight Training is located at Herlong Airport for specific reasons. Herlong is much less busy than Craig Airport, so it is quicker and easier to transition in and out of. Practice fields abound just north and west of the airport, saving the student time and money on the transition phases of the flight. Herlong Airport is also less than five miles from Cecil Field, giving our students the excellent opportunity to interact with air traffic controllers on every flight without having to be based there. All-in-all, training out of Herlong Airport may require a bit longer drive, but in the end saves the student time and money while not sacrificing the all important radio communications practice.

By the way, attached is a price list for each of our different aircraft. We try very hard to be forthright with the expected costs of flight training, so we may seem higher than some other schools. Truthfully, though, no matter where you train, the costs will end up being very much the same. The only question is the quality of aircraft and instruction.
