About

Basair is the largest flying college in Australia. We have graduated students that now fly in over 40 airlines around the world!

We operate a fleet of over 50 aircraft, which is the third largest commercial fleet in Australia, behind only QANTAS and Virgin Blue. We have 44 high quality instructors, dedicated to training students to an excellent standard. Since Basair was founded in 1991, over 4,500 customers have chosen to fly with Basair. We cater for a wide range of customers, from those that want a simple joy flight over Sydney Harbour, to students studying for Commercial Pilot Licences, multi-engine endorsements, instrument flying and instructor ratings.

All of our flight training is provided to a very high quality. We have an excellent, structured competency based curriculum - which means students typically achieve a commercial pilot licence in 8 months. We teach both the theory and the practical aspects of flying. If you want to become a pilot, either a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) for fun or a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) to kick-start your career then Basair Aviation College is the place for you.

Flew with both Sydney Aviators and Basair over the past few years. The instructors were all excellent, very friendly and helped me achieve my childhood dream of getting my commercial pilot licence. Natalie

I recently graduated with a diploma of aviation (commercial pilot licence) and would highly recommend the course. After looking around at a few different flying schools in the Bankstown area I found that Basair had the best facilities and widest range of aircraft. The course was structured well and all my instructors were great. Shortly after I finished I was offered a job flying in the NT. Michael

Basair has put me into a spiral of depression and stress, wondering how they´re going to screw me over next. Instructors are immature (see: in jokes, sitting around on phones/idling on computers/memes posted on their desks) and talk about students behind their back. Theory classes are a 20 year old instructor reading off SharePoint slides. Do not go here. DO NOT GO HERE! Richard

Very unorganised college. Instructors are very childish and rude, they talk about students in a bad way, ive heard multiple times as Students are usually going in and out from instructor´s room for sign out. The company has a very bad saftey record with two crashes, one is very recent. Old planes, bad employee culture and bad company reputation. They took money from my vet fee that i didnt even use. Joe

Basair leverage off vet-fee to double course prices and rope students in. Bunch of instructors are arrogant and blow smoke up their ass 24/7. Very unorganised and I struggled to get bookings and traction hence changing schools to complete my PPL Sam
