California Airways is the San Francisco Bay Area’s oldest flight school and flying club. Over the past 53 years, we’ve taught thousands of pilots how to fly.

We offer affordable flight training and aircraft rental for pilots of all experience levels, from student pilot through ATP. If you’re seeking an airline career, our Airline Pilot Programs take you from zero flight time through your commercial single and multi-engine certificates, plus all three flight instructor ratings. We’re an FAA-approved Part 141 flight school, and we sponsor international students for the M-1 Student visa, and train to DGCA standards. We offer student loans through Sallie Mae Financial, and we also provide affordable package training deals.

We also offer a pilot shop, FAA computerized testing, and FAA-approved flight simulators that can significantly reduce the cost of your flight training.

For renter pilots, we offer a diverse fleet of well-maintained aircraft, all the way from single-engine trainers to multiengine Seminoles and Duchesses. We also have unique airplanes that are hard to find anywhere else.

Finally, our low prices set us apart from the competition. Unlike most flying clubs, we don’t charge an initiation fee (which can be as high as $300), and we only charge monthly dues in the months that you fly.
