The Denel Centre for Learning and Development is situated in Kempton Park -RSA. The Centre incorporates 3 schools namely:

Denel Youth Foundation and Training Program
Apprenticeship School

The facility resides ± 5 km from Oliver Thambo (OT) airport previously known as the Johannesburg International Airport.

The Centre provides Training mostly for Aircraft Mechanics, where provision is made to develop the individual to a level where a license from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SA CAA ) could be issued. Other groups such as Operators, Engineers, Aviation Managers, Apprentices, Office Staff, Store staff and many more are trained. DCLD offers thirty seven (37) courses approved by the local CAA and fifty (50) various Advanced Aviation courses accredited by the Aerospace Chamber reporting to the Transport Education and Training Authority. Human Factors is the latest compulsory subject required that is on offer. DCLD can negotiate to develop courses on request in aviation. Training offered can be presented on or off-site on customers’ request. Courses are also presented internationally. DCLD presents courses in the order of one thousand two hundred (1200) Mechanics/ Technicians per year.

Training Administrators take all incoming calls and further advises on programs, course costs and accommodation. Training Staff are all experienced with an average of fifteen years in aviation training.

The registered approval number for Aviation Training for DCLD is ATTC 004 as issued by SA-CAA

We are also a satelite training facility for Capital Aviation - UK, presenting courses like HUMAN FACTORS with a EASA approval.
