Freedom Air Flight Academy

The Freedom Air Flight Academy, CAA approved (CAA 0187), provides training for the following courses:

• Private Pilot License
• Commercial Pilot License
• Airline Transport Pilot License
• Night Rating, Instrument Rating
• Turbine Ratings, Radio Telephony
• Multi Crew courses

The flight school has two briefing rooms, main waiting area, the hangar area and also an exam room where online CAA exams can be written. To manage all the bookings the flight school uses a unique e-mail based booking system. This system ensures that each student and instructor is fully aware of their schedules at all times.

Safety at Freedom Air is very important to us, monthly safety meetings are conducted by our qualified Aviation Safety Officer. Students are invited to attend these meetings to stay in touch with the latest on Aviation Safety and ways to improve on safety in the flying environment.

Our team of instructors, led by our Chief Flying Instructor, Mr. Andre Steenkamp (Airbus A340 Training Captain, South African Airways) all have experience in the charter and flight training industry.

In order to give our aspiring pilots, undivided attention from their instructors, we work on a one on one basis during all phases of training. Regular flight checks are carried out to ensure each student is up to the required standard for his/her stage of training at all times.

Aircraft on our fleet range from our basic flight trainer, the Piper Cherokee 180 to our Cessna Citation 500.
