FTA is a leading, CAA/EASA approved, commercial flight and airline pilot training company based at Brighton City Airport in West Sussex. It is one of the only integrated academies to offer Frozen ATPL training with all flying time conducted in the UK, so students get real experience and the challenge of weather conditions they will be flying in. The integrated ‘Flight Deck Programme’ aims to take delegates with zero flying experience to commercial pilot status in 14-16 months. Courses are full or part time, integrated or modular and our fees can be paid in monthly instalments; FTA offers the most competitively priced courses in the UK. FTA is accessible, friendly and flexible – accommodating students with different budgets (monthly instalments option available) and time commitments.

FTA operates one of the most modern and reliable training aircraft fleets in the world, equipped with the same systems found in modern commercial aircraft. The training fleet is comprised of Single Engine Piston (SEP) and Multi Engine Piston (MEP) aircraft – all maintained in accordance with and exceeding stringent European EASA regulations. In addition, FTA operates two simulators, the Diamond DA42 and Cessna Citation. The simulators are invaluable for training, enabling FTA flight instructors to replicate extremes of weather and emergencies at the touch of a button – for example, it’s possible to reproduce conditions of a freezing cold winter when the students are training in the height of summer or vice versa.

FTA has fully qualified expert instructors with a diverse range of aviation experience. With a high instructor to student ratio, FTA delegates receive high quality, market-leading training in accordance with aviation authority requirements – student safety is FTA’s first priority.

FTA also spends more time with each student than most other flight schools, creating a friendly and supportive learning environment. This ensures every trainee pilot is well prepared and has the skills needed to succeed at a career in aviation. Also, learning to fly at a working airport gives student’s real life experience, approaches, instruments and air traffic control.

FTA specialises across all necessary areas of aviation training including Flight Training, Integrated Flight Training, Commercial Pilot Training and the Aviation academy. FTA graduates have secured jobs with major airlines, including easyJet, Ryanair, Monarch and Aer Lingus Regional.
