The Icelandic Flight Academy was founded in 1989, with the merger of
several flight schools. IFA is the largest flight school (FTO) in
Iceland and is located at Reykjavik Airport.

Flying in Iceland
The Icelandic Flight Academy has a team of very experienced ground
and flight instructors. The majority of ground instructors are active
airline pilots and the flight instructors are all holders of JAA
pilot licenses.
Iceland offers an exciting environment for flight training. The skies
over Iceland offer the possibility for training at international and
domestic controlled airports / uncontrolled airports and in both
controlled and uncontrolled airspace. This combined with fabulous
scenery of mountains, lakes, glaciers and coastal area offer a great
flying experience.
CPL(A) - Commercial Pilot Program
After the completion of the commercial pilot program the student can
apply for an JAA frozen ATPL. The training consists of the following
parts:
