Founded in 1954 at Lexington (Ky) Blue Grass Field, the Lexington Flying Club offers its members six airplanes for personal/pleasure use and flight instruction. Current aircraft are C152, C172(3), Archer, Diamond DA-40. See our website for details.
We have two basic levels of membership: the RESTRICTED membership offers access to the Cessna airplanes; the FULL membership offers access to all airplanes. Student Pilots find the RESTRICTED level taylor-made for them; it is cheaper and they can always upgrade to the FULL level if the 7 day advanced scheduling restriction becomes an issue.
It does take a private license to fly the Archer and the Diamond DA-40, so many Restricted members want to upgrade their membership once they want higher performance, more availability and overnight privileges.
