It’s all about options at San Juan College/Mesa Pilot Development. Our mission is to train pilots for first officer positions at Mesa Air Group, one of the country’s largest regional carriers.
Since 1989, San Juan College has trained over 1800 pilots with a placement success rate that typically exceeds 90%. We offer the Primary program which includes 1) an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Technology for people who do not have a degree (but might or might not have college transfer credit) or 2) the Certificate program in Aviation Technology for students who are already degree with an associate or bachelor degree. The primary program is typically a year and half long (4 semesters) and includes 40 hours of training in the Canadair Regional Jet FTD. We fly complex aircraft - A36 Bonanzas and B58 Barons in the blue skies of Northwest New Mexico! Financial aid programs are available.
Another option to the Primary program is the Private Pilot Option IF you are a private pilot, you might be able to challenge the course and start at the Instrument Level which would cut your time in training to approximately one year.
Another option is the PACE program which is a bridge or transition program for certificated pilots with 200 total time who have instrument and at least a commercial single-engine certificate OR have a commercial multi-engine - two options to this program too. We train you in CRJ systems, B58 Barons to start working with the airline checklists, and protocols AND 40 hours in the CRJ FTD.
Whether you successful complete the Primary program or the PACE program, you are GUARANTEED an interview with Mesa Air Group for a first-officer position. The training is excellent; tuition is very affordable - only $480 per semester for a full-time load of classes, well-maintained aircraft, and a mission to see YOU begin your airline career.
Call us - we love to talk about your plans!
