Aviation Adventures Warrentonis a small but growing flight school located in the beautiful rural countryside of Fauquier County, Virginia. Warrenton-Fauquier Airport is an uncontrolled field with a 5,000 foot paved and lighted runway lying outside theSpecial Flight Rules Area (SFRA)that surrounds the Washington, DC area. What this means for the student is that more of your training time (and money) is used for actual training rather than sitting on the ground waiting for takeoff clearance and transiting out of -- and back into -- the SFRA. The airport has received many recent upgrades, including a lengthening of the runway, addition of an Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS), and installation of an Instrument Landing System (ILS) which is soon to be commissioned. Aviation Adventure Warrenton’s aircraft fleet currently consists of a Cessna 150 for extremely economical flight training andthree well-equipped Cessna 172SP’swhich are not only excellent aircraft for flight training but also for cross-country flights. One of these Cessna 172SP’s is equipped with the Garmin G1000 glass panel with GFC-700 integrated flight control system. Additionally, we have a Cessna 162 SkyCatcher on order. We offer training for Private through ATP certificates as well as Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings. We will also add Sport Pilot training to our offerings upon receipt of the SkyCatcher.
