The Aviation Department at UND is known around the world for academic excellence. From the most technologically advanced simulators to the World´s Largest Collegiate Training Fleet, our state-of-the-art facilities provide our students with a training experience second to none.


UND Aerospace has a fleet of over 120 aircraft consisting of airplanes, helicopters and unmanned aerial systems. Here in the heartland of the United States, you will get all-season flight training that will make your learning experience at UND Exciting, Rewarding and Fun.


We offer Bachelor of Business Administrations Degrees in Airport Management and Aviation Management. Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics Degrees in Air Traffic Control, Aviation Technology Management, Commercial Aviation, Flight Education and UAS Operations.


We also have Aviation Minors in Professional Flight and Aviation Management and Graduate Degree Programs in Masters of Science in Aviation and PhD in Aerospace Sciences.


Commercial Aviation (Fixed Wing)

Designed for a variety of flight-related careers, Commercial Aviation combines a solid background in aviation courses with flight instructor ratings along with a liberal arts core. You will earn a Commercial Pilot Certificate (CPL) with Instrument (IR) and Multi-Engine Class Rating (MEL). You will also earn a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI) with Instrument Rating (CFII).


Air Traffic Control Degree

The first program of its kind, the B.S. in Aeronautics with a Major in Air Traffic Control is designed to place students directly into this exciting field. Curriculum includes training that utilizes a state of the art Virtual Controller simulator and radar simulators plus study in a second field. Upon graduation, you will have earned a Private Pilot Certificate or have taken the Survey of Flight course.


UND Aviation Scholarships

Each year approximately $300,000 in UND Aviation scholarships and training awards are granted to students enrolled at UND majoring in aviation.


Financial Aid

UND utilizes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application as its application for all financial aid. The aid available includes grants, work study and loan programs.
