School Overview

American Aviation is a Diamond Flight Center that offers training towards Private, Instrument, Commercial and Flight Instructor Ratings. We are proud to use Diamond G1000 Aircraft as well as Cessna and Piper Aircraft.

Our flight school is also partnered with American Helicopters. American Helicopters offers all flights ratings using R-22, R-44 and Bell 206 Jet Ranger Helicopters. If you are looking for aTurbine Transition Course, this can be accomplished in our Jet Ranger.

Both flight schools are FAA Part 141 approved and have and excellent safety record and pass rate. We also work with the GI Bill, we have many students currently using both the Post 9/11 Bill and Montgomery GI Bill. We also work with The Community College of Baltimore County, we are a lab for both airplane and helicopter flight training, and they use the GI Bill to help students get both a degree in aviation and their pilot ratings. Our experienced instructors are always available to help you accomplish your flight training goals!

I´ve flown here quite a bit, the instructors are pretty good, airplanes are in great shape. Scheduling is a bit of a hassle as instructors tend to block their time off on the online scheduling software (defeats the purpose of online scheduling) so one has ot go through a rather tedious process to schedule an instructor. The administration of the outfit however, leaves someting to be desired. Ask a lot of questions and get stuff in writing...nuff said!
