Flight Training Services

FTS operates out of Grand Central Airport, based in Midrand, Gauteng South Africa.

We´re doing something right, as our fleet has grown to fifteen aircraft which include C172´s, Piper PA28-140´s, a Piper Arrow PA28 200R and also a Piper Twin Comanche, which is providing the best value-for-money multi-engine training in Gauteng.

We offer a comprehensive, state of the art, training service starting from entry level Private Pilot Licence (PPL) through to Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) licence. We have comprehensive JAA aligned software training programs from the UK that, together with our well developed course programs will provide the Private Pilot student with the most thorough theoretical training available in South Africa. This approach fits well with the imminent move in South Africa to essentially parallel the JAA syllabus for PPL (and higher) training.

It is common in General Aviation (GA) for the least experienced individuals to do the most instructing, and while we are planning to use the services of additional instructors, it will be backed by the organised supervision of Craig who is the holder of a Grade One instructors rating and is a Designated Examiner. Between the two partners, we are offering our combined experience of over twenty thousand hours flight time to our students, in an attempt to bridge some of the gap between the GA and airline environments. It is without any doubt that we receive the best instructor development in South Africa (and even the world) at SAA, and we are proudly willing to diffuse some of this back into the grassroots level of aviation in this country.
