Elizabeth City State University is a constituent member institution of the University of North Carolina system. Elizabeth City State University is the only institution in the state of North Carolina that offers a four-year degree program in aviation education. Elizabeth City State University offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Science.
All Aviation Science students complete a set of core aviation courses and they must choose one of eight minor programs on which to concentrate their studies. Those minor programs include Aviation Management, Computer Science, Electronics, Avionics, Public Administration, Space Science, Flight Education and Air Traffic Control.
Elizabeth City State University operates Frasca and Redbird flight simulators and CSC state-of-the-art air traffic control simulation equipment. Cessna aircraft are used in the flight program. Additionally, the construction of a new Aviation Center at the Elizabeth City Regional Airport is being planned. The new aviation facility will house classrooms, offices, conference and meeting rooms, laboratories, simulator rooms, briefing rooms, and research facilities, and it will house our fleet of airplanes.
