School Overview

Chris O’Connor is an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor in the Raleigh-Durham area. As a Cessna FITS Accepted Instructor (CFIA), he is also certified to provide transition training to owners of technically advanced aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics.

Chris recognizes everyone faces unique challenges when it comes to learning new material. He takes the time to know you … and to understand your aviation goals. His personalized flight instruction lends itself to stress-less and productive flying lessons.

As a commercial pilot, Chris has worked in a variety of roles, from flying air tours to piloting low-level, red wolf telemetry flights for the U.S. Department of Fish & Wildlife. He has carried passengers for on-demand air-taxi operations, and currently flies next-day air packages for a UPS feeder operator.

The son of a fighter pilot, Chris inherited a passion for aviation and has more than 8000 hours of flight experience, working full-time as an instructor and commercial pilot for the past 13 years. His favorite activity, however, is sharing his passion for flight by teaching his students the art and science of aviation. His professional approach to flight training provides students with the foundation they require in order to become proficient and competent pilots that safely enjoy the pleasures and utility of general aviation.

A native of Maine, Chris has been living and flying In North Carolina since 2001.
