Our school is located at North East Philadelphia Airport, which has an operating control tower and two large runways. We have an excellent tradition of producing safe pilots with a well-rounded understanding of Aviation.
Training at Philadelphia Northeast Airport provides us the opportunity to teach in a very complex airspace system that gives our students the experience of working with Air Traffic Controllers without being overwhelmed. Many student do not receive this in their training and as a result are apprehensive of using the many services and the added safety ATC provides.
The school is a CFR Part 141/61, CDMS769C and M-1 Visa school. We have a sister company that Charters aircraft such as the Navajo Chieftain, Cheyenne III and Citation V. We have our own Maintenance Department to take care of our school’s, Charter department and private aircraft.
Hortman Aviation is proud to announce that we have formed an agreement with the Community College of Philadelphia. While attending Ground and Flight lesson at Hortman Aviation you will be earning up to 20 college credits towards an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Applied Studies.
