Mr. Bobby Smith is our Chief Flight Instructor. He also acts as our training program coordinator, and project manager. Mr. Bobby Smith has over 30 years business experience, with over 10 years of that as a flight instructor.

Mid Coast Aviation helped me train to receive my Commercial Single Engine rating. The management, instructors and supporting staff have been truly amazing throughout my time there. They are very knowledgeable and learned just so much from their experience of 20+ years. Since I am a prior Army helicopter pilot, I used my VA benefits under Part 141 to cover expenses. The paperwork processing was easy and flawless. While their aircraft fleet is similar to the majority of other small flight schools and somewhat dated, the maintenance is top notch. I met with their maintenance team and they showed and taught me pretty much everything related to aircraft systems and records. I found this knowledge to be very informative, since general aviation maintenance and records keeping is quite different than my prior Army experience. Overall, I am very pleased with the flight/ground training and general aviation experience gained. I would recommend this school to anyone interested.
