Located in beautiful Southern California, San Diego Christian College provides an excellent liberal arts education and a unique aviation degree. Our Aviation program specializes in preparing pilots for the mission field, through our FAA Part 141 training program.We have a seasoned staff of experienced aviation educators from military, airlines and missionary aviation. Our faculty and administration desire each student to purposefully seek after God in all they do, to pursue an incredible educational experience while earning a Bachelor´s degree, and to learn how to become the next generation of Godly leaders.
Aviation SDCC is one of the few colleges in California offering a 4-year bachelor´s degree in Aviation Technology that includes pilot ratings as part of the degree. SDCC is a short distance from nearby mountain, desert and beach resort areas. Modern freeways allow easy travel to any of San DiegoÂ´s attractions within a half hour.
San Diego´s many cultural, entertainment, and research centers afford SDCC students and excellent opportunity to participate in a wide variety of educational, recreational, and cultural activities.
The degree program in Aviation combines flight training with a unique academic course of study, enabling the student to build the skills necessary to attain a career in professional aviation while gaining a solid foundation in biblical knowledge.
Our program has a commitment to having our students serve Christ--whether with a missionary aviation organization, through the military or commercial aviation.
While earning their degree, students will receive a Private Pilot Rating, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Rating, and a Certified Flight Instructor Rating. Our mission is to develop men and women in personal integrity, knowledge, and the skills necessary to serve Christ through aviation.
SDCC aviation graduates qualifyto apply for Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) ratingunder the reduced aeronautical experienceminimums of 1000 flight hours through FAA´s new FAR 61.160 rule.
SDCC pilots who qualify for the American Eagle Instructor Pipeline program will have a guaranteed job as a regional jet pilot for American Eagle Airlinesupon reaching the 1000 flight hours by instructing our pilots after graduation. Pilots who fly for American Eagle Airlines (Envoy) also have a guaranteed pilot interview with parent company American Airlines after completing a 2-year commitment under the program.
SDCC is a member of International Association of Missionary Aviation (IAMA), University Aviation Association (UAA) and National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA). Our Flight Team competes in NIFA SAFECON events and has qualified for the National collegiate flying championships for the past 5 years in a row. Flight Team sharpens skills of our aviators through competition. Other schools in Region 2 include Embry-Riddle (Prescott), San Jose State University, Mount San Antonio College among others.
