Sportflight Scotland is the only flying school in Scotland to operate from a traditional grass airfield. From our base at Strathaven - around 45 minutes from Glasgow and Ayr and an hour from Stirling and Edinburgh - we offer gift vouchers for trial flying lessons and flight training for the National Private Pilot’s Licence.

We fly the Comco Ikarus C42s, the sportscars of the sky!

With three full-time instructors plus an on-site examiner, we are open seven days a week.

We charge £140 per flying hour and have no landing fees. Ground exams are £30 each, and can be taken anytime at Strathaven Airfield.

With three grass runways, you can practise crosswind landings, short field take-offs and landings all at the same airfield.
