A Federal Aviation Administration Part 147 approved school since 1969, Wayne Community College is committed to a learning-centered, outcomes-based education model, which encourages students to assume responsibility for their own learning and facilitates achievement of identified program learning outcomes.
The curriculum is designed to provide basic aircraft knowledge to individuals who intend to seek a career in Aviation Maintenance. The aviation systems curriculum prepares you with the necessary knowledge, oral and practical skills to complete the Federal Aviation Administration written, oral and practical tests. Upon satisfactory completion of this course the student will qualify for the FAA Mechanics airman certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings and will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Systems Technology.
