Our Mandate at AFIT is to provide basic and advanced training for military personnel and civilians. Provision of specialist knowledge and advancement in the fields of aeronautics, aerospace engineering and avionics is our potentials. We possess the ability to develop human capacity at all levels from technician up to specialist grades. We meet the manpower requirement of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), sister Services and armed forces of friendly African countries in the following fields: Aircraft Engineering & Maitenance Armament engineering maintenance Ground communication electronics technology Radar equipment maintenance Civil and environmental engineering technology Supply and logistics management AFIT conducts management and supervisory training for officers and senior non-commissioned officers. This includes ability to train up to postgraduate levels using specialised and state-of-the-art equipment. We disseminate knowledge through the conduct of research and application of knowledge using innovative research findings. Our products enhance the capabilities of NAF and other stakeholders in the aerospace/ aeronautical industry. Ability to develop a made in Nigeria combat aircraft and other air vehicles such as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is one of our potentialAFIT provides a hybrid blend between polytechnic education of technology and conventional education. We are currently embarking in awarding undergraduate and postgraduate degrees up to doctorate level in specialised fields. We embrace multi-disciplinary research and sustainable developmental approach in the aviation industry for both military and civilian in Nigeria, sub-region and Africa at large.
