Central Washington University is the regional leader in professional aviation education. Established in 1975, CWU´s aviation program is the only fully accredited public university aviation program in the Pacific Northwest. CWU has a stellar reputation for preparing students for the demands of industry with B.S. degrees in Aviation Management and Professional Pilot. The CWU Department of Aviation attracts individuals with a passion for the combined art and science of aviation.
All flight training is conducted under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) FAR part 141 regulations with CWU´s contract operator at Bowers Field in Ellensburg, Washington.
Flight Officer Graduates complete the following FAA ratings and certificates:
- Private Pilot Certificate (PVT)
- Instrument Rating (IFR)
- Commercial Pilot Certificate (COM)
- Multi-Engine Rating (ME), and Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI)
Central Washington University utilizes an all Frasca fleet of FTD’s, including a G58 Baron TruFlite FTD with G1000, King Air 200 and a CRJ-200AATD. All three training devices include Frasca´s TruVision visual system.
